ABOUT

MCIAT / RIBA Part 1 Architecture / RIBA Part 2 Architecture Student

Graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architectural Technology from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Robert Gordon University Aberdeen I have spent the previous ten years developing my design knowledge and technical skills through employment in Architectural Practice.

Working within a small practice has enabled involvement with projects from inception to completion. Exposure to both residential and commercial projects has allowed me to develop a thorough understanding of the processes involved in successful project delivery.

In September 2015 I achieved the status of Chartered Architectural Technologist within The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists - CIAT.

In May 2019 I acquired my Part 1 RIBA Certificate in Architecture, and in May 2022 I acquired my Part 2 Diploma in Architecture. This was achieved through undertaking the Royal Institute of British Architects - RIBA Examination in Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. This provided a means to achieve the recognised qualifications: the RIBA Part 1 and the RIBA Part 2 whilst continuing to enhance my skills through remaining in employment within Architectural Practice. At present I am working towards qualifying as a Chartered Architect through completing the RIAS Part 3 board examination.

I have undertaken the role of a Visiting Critic at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture providing presentations on professional practice to undergraduate students and taking an active role in providing student feedback at end-of-semester Crits.

I am inspired by Scandinavian design alongside exploring contemporary takes on traditional Scottish architecture.

I am the proud father to my daughter Anya.
